开学第一天，大家按要求交了各科作业，唯独我没有交书法作业。因为我在早上的玩耍中弄丢了，那可是我练过无数次的写着“上善若水”的毛笔大字啊。没办法，我只好当晚再写一幅补交了上去。

On the first day of school, everyone handed in all kinds of homework as required, but I didnt hand in my calligraphy homework. Because I lost it in my play in the morning. Its a big calligraphy that Ive practiced countless times and wrote "kindness is like water". No way, I had to write another one that night to make it up.

周三进行书法作品评奖，我对自己毫无信心：反正班里书法高手如云，虽然我的字是进步了，可别人也一样进步啊。希望我这个无名小卒不是最后就可以了。没想到，我的作品竟然了先被许老师挂了出来，还受到了老师的好评，不过许老师提醒我：字间距和留白还要多些，还把拿王瀛彩的作品与我的作比较。其实我是知道要留白，但那时家里只有一张裁剩的纸，我只能将就着。老师把作品都挂出来了，我仔细一看，好像我写得还真不错嘛。最后同学们投票评奖，出乎我的意料，我的.票数最多，居然获得了一等奖。这真是意外的惊喜啊。

On Wednesday, I had no confidence in my calligraphy work appraisal: in any case, the calligraphy masters in my class are like clouds. Although my words have improved, others have also improved. However, Mr. Xu reminded me that there should be more space between words and more white space. He also compared Wang Yingcais work with mine. In fact, I knew to leave blank, but at that time, there was only one piece of paper left at home, so I had to make do with it. The teacher hung up all the works. I looked at them carefully, as if they were really good. In the end, my classmates voted for the prize, which surprised me that I had the most votes and won the first prize. What a surprise.

后来在课堂上写其它的字时，我的字却不好看了，原来这一个月来，我只写了这四个字，别的字都是没写，我知道这就叫熟能生巧。以后我要认真练习，也能把别的字都写好才是真本事。
